BROADWAY BABY RECORDS

VITAL THEATRE COMPANY and SH-K-BOOM/GHOSTLIGHT RECORDS proudly announce the release of the official cast recording of PINKALICIOUS, THE MUSICAL on Sh-K-Boom's new imprint, BROADWAY BABY RECORDS. The long-running hit production produced by Vital Theatre Company is based on the popular children's book Pinkalicious by Victoria Kann and Elizabeth Kann. The book was adapted for the stage by the Kanns (book and lyrics) and John Gregor (music and lyrics). The album is currently available in stores and online at www.sh-k-boom.com.

Featured on the cast album are MICHELLE CZEPHYA, MOLLY GILMAN, ALAN HOUSER, SARA PEAK and DANNY ROONEY. Tracks on the album include "Pinktastic," "When Dreams Come True," "I Got the Pink Blues," "Buzz Off," "The Power of Antioxidants" and "Green Foods," among others.

PINKALICIOUS, THE MUSICAL, now in its third year, began at Vital Theatre Company's home theater at 76th Street and Broadway. After completing its initial sold-out six-week run, it moved to the SOHO PLAYHOUSE where it enjoyed an extended run through summer of 2007. In January of 2008, the production re-opened at Midtown's NEW WORLD STAGES, where it ran through September of 2008. In November of 2008 the production moved to the Bleecker Street Theater at 45 Bleecker where it has settled into an open-ended run in the 240-seat theater.

In the musical, Pinkalicious can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe - a dream come true for this pink-loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this predicament.

VITAL THEATRE COMPANY'S production of PINKALICIOUS, THE MUSICAL continues its open-ended run Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00 pm at the BLEECKER STREET THEATRE at 45 Bleecker Street (North side of Bleecker Street, between Lafayette & Mott Streets). All tickets are $29.50. The show is appropriate for children ages 2 to 10. For tickets and information, please visit www.vitaltheatre.org or call Telecharge at (212) 239-6200. Please visit www.pinkaliciousthemusical.com for more information.

VITAL THEATRE COMPANY commissions four to five new musicals for children each season. Since its founding in 1999, Vital Theatre Company has been honored with two AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE by the Off Off Broadway Review and received high acclaim from audiences and critics alike for being "a wonderful place for parents to introduce their kids to the glories of live theatre, done well and at modest prices." Now in its 10th season, the company is dedicated to producing entertaining and educational theatre for young audiences. To date, the company has presented 41 original productions for over 150,000 children and their families.

SH-K-BOOM/GHOSTLIGHT RECORDS has emerged as the standard bearer on the Broadway music scene. Their recent releases of the OCRs for Tony winners In The Heights and Passing Strange, as well as their single release featuring the winner of MTV's Legally Blonde The Musical competition, have brought them acclaim for their innovative marketing techniques and their efforts to reach the next generation of Broadway music fans via iTunes, music videos and more. The label (and President Kurt Deutsch) recently earned their first ever GRAMMY AWARD for In The Heights. Coverage has ranged from Rolling Stone to USA TODAY to The New York Times, from Blender Magazine to Playbill to Billboard, from AP Radio to Entertainment Weekly, from New York Magazine to Variety to NY-1 TV, from Time Out NY to Paper Magazine to The Advocate and much more. Other current releases include the OCR for '13 - The New Broadway Musical,' and a double CD collector's edition of 'Reefer Madness.' Their release of 'Patti LuPone at Les Mouches' received expansive and wildly favorable media overage. They recently released Sutton Foster's solo CD, 'Wish', and coverage included two USA TODAY 'Listen Up Music Picks', an appearance on NBC- TV Weekend Today Show, and a debut on Billboard's Heatseekers Chart. Ghostlight will soon release the OCR for HAIR, giving the label both the past (Hair) and present (Next To Normal) of Broadway rock musicals. Label co-founder Sherie Rene Scott currently stars in the critically acclaimed 'Everyday Rapture,' described by The NY TIMES as "one of the year's most extravagantly entertaining new musicals."
