VITAL THEATRE COMPANY
TO PRESENT

“MY LEFT BREAST”

A COMMAND PERFORMANCE
BY SUSAN MILLER
OF HER OBIE AWARD-WINNING PLAY

"A metaphor of resilience... done with self-aware humor and a literary acuteness that make her hour on the stage an enlarging experience." - The New York Times

"In her rueful, comical solo, OBIE winner Susan Miller achieves what all engrossing autobiography aims at: revealing the human condition poetically by using the self as exhibit A." - The Village Voice

TO BENEFIT VITAL THEATRE COMPANY'S MAINSTAGE SEASON

VITAL THEATRE COMPANY is pleased to announce a command performance by SUSAN MILLER of her Obie Award-winning play "MY LEFT BREAST," to benefit Vital Theatre Company's Mainstage Season. "I am a one-breasted, menopausal, Jewish, bisexual lesbian Mom, and I'm coming soon to a theatre near you!" A woman's humorous and moving encounters with relationships, parenthood, cancer, and her ever-changing self are charted in "MY LEFT BREAST," a searingly honest solo piece.

SUSAN MILLER is an Obie award winning playwright and Guggenheim Fellow whose works include the critically acclaimed one-woman play, MY LEFT BREAST, which premiered in Actors' Theatre of Louisville's Humana Festival (Obie); A MAP OF DOUBT AND RESCUE (Susan Smith Blackburn Prize); and NASTY RUMORS AND FINAL REMARKS (Obie). Other plays include SWEEPING THE NATION, FOR DEAR LIFE, FLUX, CONFESSIONS OF A FEMALE DISORDER, IT'S OUR TOWN, TOO, and READING LIST.
