Overbrook Entertainment, run by Will Smith and Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit recently announced that they will be partnering with Sony Pictures Television to produce a new syndicated talk show for 2013. Latifah has announced that she will host the new show. She is expected to join an already packed scenery that is likely to comprise of Katie Couric, Steve Harvey and Jeff Probst.
The deal was created by Flavor Unit co-founder Shakim Compere and Overbrook’s Miguel Melendez. Shakim and Miguel will work as executive producers alongside Overbrook’s James Lassiter, Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith and Latifah on the daytime effort. For Latifah, this is just another in a long list of esteemed projects such as: Joyful Noise, spokesperson for CoverGirl and producer on BET’s Let’s Stay Together and VH1′s Single Ladies. She first hosted a daytime talk show in 1999 called the Queen Latifah Show which ran for two seasons.
