Katy Perry and Russell Brand's Wedding: Fact Vs. Fiction

Russell Brand and Katy Perry's weekend wedding, rumors or truth?

The basics, of course, are undisputed: Brand, 35, and birthday girl Perry, who turned 26 on Monday, "were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Brand on Saturday, October 23," reps for the couple confirmed. "The very private and spiritual ceremony, attended by the couples' closest family and friends, was performed by a Christian minister and longtime friend of the Hudson Family. The backdrop was the inspirational and majestic countryside of Northern India."

But from there, speculation ensued. Perhaps one of the most sensational claims of the week was a report that Brand surprised his bride by buying a tiger named Machli, which means fish. But, alas, that is not true.

While the couple stayed at a resort near India's Ranthambhore wildlife sanctuary, in a region known for its tiger population, tigers are wild and are protected animals. They cannot be bought – even by a wealthy celebrity.

Jewish Wedding Present For Prince William And His Fiancé

Prince William and his fiancé Kate Middleton’s wedding plans have begun to take shape. The date has been set, the venue chosen and many of the guests have been chosen as well. Additionally it is to be remembered that those who are attending the wedding also have to perform their fair share of planning. Ideas for presents have to be gathered, to eventually be bought or purchased. Artist Mike Horton decided to make his wedding gift something close to a traditional Jewish wedding scroll, a Ketubah. He presented the gift to ambassadors in Ramat Gan, Israel. According to him the scroll will be taken and delivered to the Common House next to Buckingham Palace.

Now the wedding on April 29st can come for the artist who created the scroll including a custom-made contract in Hebrew and English that combines egalitarian themes with traditional language, while excluding any religious references. It reads, "May we remain committed to each other's physical and mental well-being, and to each other's emotional and spiritual growth." The British Ambassador Matthew Gould promised that he would deliver the present safely to the couple and called it "an extremely appropriate and lovely gift."
